Several times before, I have stated that you are responsible for
everything that goes on in your life. You are the author, the director,
the one responsible for the script. And in no way is that more true than
through the concept of resonance.
What is resonance? Musically,
it would be the quality in a sound of being deep, full, and
reverberating. There is a tool, called a tuning fork, that is used to
help tune musical instruments, due to the fact that when the fork is
struck it resonates at a specific pitch and frequency. The note, being
played by the fork, allows the musician to know when the instrument or
part of the instrument that he is tuning is correctly tuned. There are
all sorts of different tuning forks, but they are generally tuned to the
notes of the musical scale. There are individual tuning forks that are
tuned to A notes and B notes and C notes and so on. Let's say you have
four tunings forks, two of them tuned to A, one to B and one to C. If
you strike one of the two that is tuned to the pitch of A it will begin
to vibrate. It will produce a sound. The tuning forks that are tuned to B
and C will not make any sound at all. But since the other tuning
fork is also tuned to the pitch of A it will also begin to vibrate and
to a lesser degree it will also make sound. The two tuning forks have
been tuned to the same note or "in harmony" . When one is struck and
both produce sound this is called harmonic resonance. And it is what
most people mean when they are describing the principle of resonance.
This
idea doesn't just work in music though. It is the single most important
concept for understanding why people are where they are in their lives.
Over and over it has been said that what you think about you become. It
has been said many different ways. What you focus on you produce. What
you think you make real. It all means the same thing. See, your thought
patterns produce vibrations that travel out into the surrounding
universe and things that are in harmonic resonance with what you think
are drawn to you. Things that are in harmony with your thoughts come to
you as a result of those thoughts.
What does this mean? It means
that if you are constantly focused on how much your job sucks, how badly
you hate where you live and how you never have enough free time, the
negative energy that you send out thinking about those things draws more
negative energy from the universe and ensures that you get more of
those things.
Does this mean you should just throw up your hands
and give up? Absolutely not. But, complaining about your life or
focusing on all the things that don't work is not the answer. Being
unsatisfied about your conditions is fine. If you want to make it better
though you get to focus on the positive things that you are working to
achieve. Instead of trying to lose weight, focus on how your body will
look when you reach your goal. Stop thinking about all the things that
you do not want in the job that you already have. Focus on the qualities
that your new job will have.
It may sound stupid or you may not
see the difference in the two ways of being. But trust me, thinking
about getting away from where you are is a losing mentality. And
thinking about where you are going to be as the starting point for
getting there is the winning way.
Through the principle of
resonance, the reason why should be obvious. Your positive thinking
about your goals will create harmonic resonance with the universe and
then good things will start happening. It has been scientifically
proven that when you think negative and limiting things your experiences
are negative, which causes you to feel more negative, which in turn
creates more negative and limiting thinking. It is a vicious cycle. On
the other hand if you think positive and unlimiting beliefs, your
experiences are positive which causes you to feel more positive, which
in turn creates more positive and unlimiting thinking. What you put in
you get out. Through your thoughts and actions you can force the
universe to bring you whatever it is that you desire.
Unlimit yourself.
